Jones Prep students want their 15 minutes of funding

When Jones College Prep students storm the Thompson Center onTuesday afternoon to demand more state funding for the Chicago PublicSchools, it may sound and look like a protest.

But don't tell them that.

The 15-minute "field trip" is the culmination of a four-day school-wide civics lesson on Illinois education spending and democracy.

"It's [the lessons] a guideline for what you can do in life if youwant to change something," said 16-year-old junior Danny Zeckhauser."It's important for people to know their constitutional rights."
